Living area

Initial draftUpdated 13 August 2026Approved for Site publication (working draft)

Context and Design Intent

  • Create a spacious, flexible family living zone near the entrance without overcrowding the shared common area.
  • This file is the authoritative requirements record for this area. The initial draft extracts known points from 10 - Requirements/00 - Renovation Discussion Summary.md; later merges must follow 02 - AI Collaboration Rules.md.

Non-Negotiables

  • LIV-NN-001 — Remove the existing living-area storeroom to enlarge the common space.
  • LIV-NN-003 — Provide two AC blowers across the combined living/dining zone.

Strongly Preferred

  • LIV-SP-002 — Locate the main living area nearer to the entrance and keep more open space toward the bedrooms and balcony.
  • LIV-SP-004 — Provide convenient charging, power, lighting, fan and network points coordinated with the furniture layout.
Detailed requirements and coordination

Provisional Ideas

  • LIV-P-005 — Consider decorative shelving or a bookshelf only if it does not reduce useful space.

Questions for the Interior Designer

  • What activities must the living area support every day and when hosting?
  • What television, audio, gaming or display equipment is expected?
  • How many seats are needed and which existing furniture may be reused?

Whole-Home Coordination

  • Refer to 10 - Requirements/01 - Whole-Home Systems Requirements.md for shared electrical, network, plumbing, AC, accessibility and service-access requirements.
