Service yard

Initial draftUpdated 13 August 2026Approved for Site publication (working draft)

Context and Design Intent

  • Provide a ventilated utility zone for damp cleaning equipment and selected household services.
  • This file is the authoritative requirements record for this area. The initial draft extracts known points from 10 - Requirements/00 - Renovation Discussion Summary.md; later merges must follow 02 - AI Collaboration Rules.md.

Non-Negotiables

  • YRD-NN-001 — Store mops, buckets and damp cleaning equipment here rather than in the dry storeroom.
  • YRD-NN-002 — Provide ventilated storage for cleaning supplies and allow wet items to dry properly.
  • YRD-NN-004 — Wherever located, the robot dock requires permanent power, clean-water supply and wastewater drainage.
  • YRD-NN-005 — Provide a dehumidifier location with permanent wastewater drainage.

Decisions Outstanding

  • YRD-DO-006 — Determine whether the yard needs AC, mechanical ventilation, or ventilation plus dehumidification.
Detailed requirements and coordination

Provisional Ideas

  • YRD-P-003 — Consider locating the robot-vacuum dock here if it can reach the rest of the home conveniently.

Questions for the Interior Designer

  • Which cleaning tools and consumables must be stored here?
  • Where should wet items drip and dry without obstructing circulation?
  • What temperature and humidity outcome is expected?

Whole-Home Coordination

  • Refer to 10 - Requirements/01 - Whole-Home Systems Requirements.md for shared electrical, network, plumbing, AC, accessibility and service-access requirements.
