Context and Design Intent
Create a dry, ventilated, accessible and low-maintenance household store between Bedroom 3 and the study. The layout should prevent overcrowding, support safe retrieval without routine climbing and accommodate the owners' identified bulky items.
This file is the authoritative requirements record for this area. It preserves the initial baseline and the attributed positions from Fahmi's and Yasmin's completed independent brainstorms.
Non-Negotiables
STR-NN-001 — Agreed: Remove the existing living-area storeroom and create its replacement between Bedroom 3 and the study.
STR-NN-002 — Agreed: Use it only for dry household storage; wet mops and damp cleaning equipment belong in the service balcony.
STR-NN-004 — Agreed: Keep any electrical or plumbing services passing through it accessible.
Strongly Preferred
STR-SP-003 — Agreed: Provide suitable ventilation and height-adjustable shelving. Integrate the ventilation discreetly with the door or wall design and prevent the musty conditions experienced in the existing storeroom.
STR-SP-005 — Agreed: Provide motion-activated lighting inside the storeroom with a manual override.
STR-SP-006 — Agreed: Plan a measured storage layout for luggage, a full-height ladder, a folded stroller, tools and hardware, loose electronics and accessories, tote bags and other dry household items. Reserve floor-level or vertical space for bulky items that cannot sit on shelves.
STR-SP-007 — Agreed: Preserve a usable aisle and a door opening wide enough to move luggage, the ladder and the stroller without first moving other stored items.
STR-SP-008 — Agreed: Use painted, low-maintenance wall and ceiling finishes; no special washable wall treatment is required.
STR-SP-009 — Agreed: No lock is required for the storeroom.
STR-FP-014 — Agreed: Provide two double power points: one near the network point and one at accessible shelf height for charging tool batteries and similar uses.

STR-DIFF-002 — Lighting override: Both owners supported motion-activated lighting; Fahmi requested a manual override while Yasmin initially did not require one. Attributed Owner Positions
These positions are preserved with attribution and are not jointly agreed requirements unless stated otherwise later.
Fahmi
STR-FP-010 — Use open, adjustable modular shelving sourced directly by Fahmi. The interior designer should reserve and coordinate dimensions and clearances but does not need to source the shelving.
STR-FP-011 — Extend shelving close to the ceiling where practical. Keep heavy drills, toolboxes and paint low; keep frequently used items within comfortable reach; and use high shelves only for lighter, infrequently accessed items.
STR-FP-012 — Provide a dedicated vertical bay for a full-height ladder, accessible storage for a folded stroller and space for approximately two to three luggage bags.
STR-FP-013 — Provide a flush entrance threshold with no step. Select a door configuration whose open leaf obstructs neither the corridor nor the shelving.
STR-FP-015 — Provide a wired network point for future flexibility. If active network equipment is added later, allow a dedicated ventilated shelf or cabinet.
STR-FP-016 — No dedicated water or drainage provision is required in this dry storeroom.
Yasmin
STR-YP-017 — Use low-maintenance flooring with a modern, walk-in-wardrobe character; exclude vinyl.
STR-YP-018 — Make the door a modern, intentional design feature integrated with the surrounding wall finish. A full-height fluted-panel treatment is a reference, not a fixed solution.
STR-YP-019 — Consider hooks or a rail for tote bags so they do not consume full shelf depth.
STR-YP-020 — Ensure the ventilation solution does not transmit noise or air into Bedroom 3 or the study.
STR-YP-021 — No dehumidifier is planned in the storeroom.

STR-SF-023 — Confirm the storeroom footprint, shelf count, shelf depth, shelf material and load ratings after measurement and coordination with the owner-supplied shelving system.
STR-SF-024 — Confirm the door configuration after the opening width, aisle, corridor and shelving clearances are known.
STR-SF-025 — Confirm a concealed or visually integrated ventilation method that prevents mustiness without conflicting with shelving or affecting adjacent rooms.
STR-SF-026 — Confirm the specific non-vinyl flooring material that meets Yasmin's low-maintenance and modern-finish criteria.
STR-SF-027 — Confirm safe, ventilated storage requirements for spare wall paint before allocating its shelf position.

Whole-Home Coordination
SYS-NN-002 remains applicable: provide a wired network connection to the storeroom using cabling and equipment rated for the selected PoE standard. Fahmi's requested network-point purpose and equipment provision are recorded in STR-FP-015.
Coordinate electrical, networking, ventilation and any passing plumbing routes before shelving is ordered, in accordance with SYS-SP-005.
Keep wet mops and damp cleaning equipment in the service balcony under STR-NN-002.
Coordinate the storeroom footprint and partition walls with Bedroom 3 and the study. Yasmin's adjacent-room ventilation constraint is recorded in STR-YP-020.
The whole-home dehumidifier connection requirement under SYS-NN-003 does not establish the storeroom as the dehumidifier location. Yasmin has no dehumidifier planned here, and Fahmi's no-water-or-drainage position is recorded in STR-FP-016.
